The purpose of an accounting major is to build on the foundation of the business core to enable the learner to understand accounting theory and its applications in the areas of financial, tax, not-for-profit and managerial accounting and in the practice of auditing.
The accounting major consists of 72 semester credits, including the business core of foundation courses. In addition, students must complete the general education core; along with additional elective credits to complete the 120 semester credits required for the bachelor of science degree.
