The student will be able to record, edit, assemble, synchronize, and mix voice,
music, and sound effects to picture via hands on studio time in control rooms
and recording studio labs on campus. The student will be able to discuss the
various philosophies of surround recording and mixing.
The student will be able
to describe a recording studio, including its layout, room functions, personnel,
equipment and general recording procedures, and describe the basic operation of
an audio console. The student will be able to describe the fundamental aspects
that constitute a commercially viable mix for multiple genres of music and
execute them on a digital or analog console.
