The Medical Assisting program prepares graduates to work under the direction of
physicians in a private practice or medical setting. Students develop a solid
foundation in communication and problem solving skills through general education
coursework.
Students also develop a strong foundation in administrative and
clinical procedures, including: Diagnostic testing Venipuncture Patient
education for disease management CPR certification Basic pharmacological
procedures Patient history Medical records and filing Medical office management
Assisting with minor surgery Entry-level Employment Opportunities Medical
Assistant Medical Office Manager Phlebotomist EKG Technician Pharmacy Tech
Medical Receptionist Graduates of this program are qualified to pursue
Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant certification.
