The Health Information Technology Program prepares students to work as
entry-level health information management professionals in both traditional and
non-traditional settings. The program addresses the nature, structure, and
translation of data into usable forms. Health Information Technicians are taught
to perform a variety of functions, including the use of healthcare computer
applications, managing the privacy and confidentiality of protected health
information, working with quality and compliance procedures, and assigning
diagnostic and procedural codes for both reimbursement and research.
Accreditation: Accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) to award Diplomas, Associate Degrees, and Bachelor Degrees.
