The Medical Assistant degree program provides students with the skills and
education needed to succeed in a variety of Allied Health areas. Students
enrolled in the Medical Assistant training program typically work in areas such
as: clinical (EKG, phlebotomy, blood pressures, injections, lab work), and
administrative (keyboarding, bookkeeping, insurance billing, front office
operation). The student will also be prepared to pursue a professional
certification as a Medical Assistant.
The skills and knowledge acquired from the
training courses will enable the graduate to work as an entry-level health
professional in one of many different medical environments, such as clinical
labs, general practitioner offices and area specialists, and other ambulatory
settings.
